Penang's 228th Thaipusam ...

The last I witnessed Penang's Thaipusam, reputed as one of the grandest Thaipusam 'festivale' in Malaysia was way back some thirty something years ago. A lot has changed since then, more significantly the monstrous hike of prices, especially food and drinks. All else were just the same or more in grandiose.

I managed to catch the Silver Chariot as it made its one's only in a year maiden journey to the Waterfall Temples.

Ponggal in Penang with a difference ...

It was a hot humid Ponggal day in Penang. I strode through Little India and stumbled into a Ponggal celebration with a different tune in progress. It was colourful and I decided to have it all captured on camera.

This is how you measure ...

If you are unsure how much you should eat or consume, 

scientists have come up with a noble way to 'measure' your food intake. 

• 1 oz. meat - the size of a matchbox
• 3 oz. meat - size of a deck of cards or bar of soap - the recommended portion for a meal
•  9 oz. meat - size of a thin paperback book
•  3 oz. fish - size of a cheque book
•  1 oz. cheese - size of 4 dice
•  Medium potato - size of a computer mouse
•  2tbs. peanut butter - a ping pong ball
•  1/2 cup pasta - size of a tennis ball

    However, eating moderately is still common sense. Hope it works.

For many years, or even centuries, 

smoke signals were used to communicate....

so did the Vatican.

But he uses cell phones and Emails...

He is none other than

He is indeed the man for year 2013.
