Hospital Bukit Mertajam!
Two counters serve patients in obtaining appointment numbers to visit doctors. Counter 1- fast lane - extreme left, is reserved for OKUs (disable patients), Senior Citizens (60 years & above) and *Retired Civil Servants while the Centre Counter - is for all others in general.
*I guess retired public servants don't qualify as they aren't humans in the eyes of the Government.
Every morning, the Centre Counter is flocked with patients ( mostly oldies) queueing in for numbers and the queue comprises of people from all walks of life including those who should be at Counter 1. But the First Counter is always empty.
The reason : No hospital staff or authority tends to Counter 1. A signpost in blue-print plastered on the panel of the First Counter reads, 'Reserved for OKUs, Seniors and Retired Civil Servants' ( see pic below)
My question to the hospital authorities :
{ I HOPE THE HEALTH MINISTER READS THIS}
●What exactly is the purpose of the Counter 1 - the so called R--Lane?
●Why put up a signpost to serve the needy when that very need is not addressed?
●What's the logic of the First Counter when the needy need to queue up at the Counter 1 with all the others....not forgetting the long waiting hours?
...and this is the General Hospital!
The pictures below tell the story.

YMCA Penang...
![]() |
Classes for languages one does not need. Where is Tamil language? |
![]() |
They even have sign language. |
In Malaysia and in Penang there are more Tamil speakers than sign learners. Again I ask why isn't YMCA facilitating the teaching of Tamil as a language? Tamilians comprise third largest community in Malaysia.
Gosh! What is Line dance? Hahaha.
They even have Thai, Italian Korean languages taught in YMCA Penang. I mean, in Malaysia who needs these languages? Most Malaysians can't even speak let alone converse in Malay all that well for a start. Try conversing with the Malaysian Chinese community. Born and schooled in Malaysia, and yet can't speak the National Language. Imagine when they start to learn 'alien' languages.

Chaos chaos Bukit Mertajam ...
After an 18 hour downpour, Bukit Mertajam is in chaos as people are caught in flash floods, traffic congestion and shops remained closed. Trains schedules have been cancelled owing to the disruption of power supply and trees fallen on tracks.
On the Isle, it's total calamity. Over flowing rivers, mud and hill-slope slides, roads, houses and schools are inundated with mud-flow and 'flotsam' debris; not forgetting stench and dead carcasses flowing into homes.
More storms are expected in the next few days.
