Mangoes...fact not fiction ...

Not only they taste great, but mangoes are loaded with several qualities excellent for health. They are rich in powerful antioxidants known to neutralise free radicals that cause damage to cells and lead to health problems like heart disease, premature aging and cancer among other things.

Why should one consider eating mangoes ....?
  • With its high iron content, mangoes are excellent for pregnant women and those who suffer from anaemia. But do consult your doctor beforehand on how much is suitable.
  • Constantly complaining about clogged pores? Place mango slices on your skin and wash if off after 10 minutes.
  • If you suffer from indigestion problems, mango can do the trick. They’re known to give relief from acidity and aid proper digestion as they contain digestive enzymes that help break down proteins.
  • This is wow. Rich in potassium, mangoes reduce high blood pressure. They contain pectin, a soluble dietary fibre known to lower blood cholesterol levels.
  • Wana put on weight? Include mango  in your diet. It is rich in calories and carbohydrates. It could be the perfect fruit to have.
  • Some studies say eating mangoes reduces the risk of kidney stone formation. Hmmm...
  • Mango, sweet and sour has cooling energy. They are useful for those suffering from anaemia, bleeding gums, cough, fever, nausea and even sea sickness.
  • Studying for exams? This fruit is rich in glutamine acid — an important protein for concentration and memory. Instead of snacking on those worthless unhealthy chips and cookies, try feasting on slices of mangoes instead.
  • Though they are traditionally not considered as aphrodisiacs, mangoes contain Vitamin E which helps boost one’s sex life. The vitamin works to regulate the body’s sex hormones. wow...hahah

One last tip - if you're diabetic, do consult your doctor first before consuming mangoes.

Voula Papachristou's tweet that got her banned from the Olympics is the perfect start to the 2012 London games.

"with so many Africans in Greece at least the West Nile mosquitoes will eat homemade food."

Happy Retirement ...

... and yes, I've retired and that's a big yahoo for me.

Many would and will say when you retire, the boring years starts. The nothing-to-do days begin; the missing times spent with friends and colleagues dawns; the catching up of the void from your work life creeps in and makes you utterly lonely and a bit miserable and yes to all that blah blah blah cheap talk.

To me all that is crap lah!

I DON'T miss any of that. In fact, moneyless or filthy rich, no friends or all friends dead, hobbyless or too much of a hobby, no debts or debt ridden, in all honesty I REALLY don't care.

I've worked a little over 34 years and have still something like 10 of those years left in me. One thing I've learned, with all that income the major part of my work life was spent paying debts and bills. Nothing much to save.

One other thing I know for sure, by 30 years of age if one is not a millionaire, then one is certain to go down the years earning all the money but end up paying debts unless one strikes a lottery.

Well! the end days are here now. Life has indeed taken a bit of a boring twist but they're things I do to keep this aging body of mine moving.

Over the years, having started work at age 16 as a porter to a fruit wholesaler to finally clocking out from an MNC IT company; having worked in both private and civil sectors, I don't think I would want to go thru' all that all over again. I must say, the frustrations are immensely overwhelming so it's pointless to reminiscent all that anymore.

I've met people who prefer not to retire and continue like for forever, I wish them all the best.

As for me, I end it here.

Its' simply too beautiful to end it here and not continue anymore.
