SYNOPSIS:

Story about a boy named Shengu, the prophesied steed of his family's who is wanted dead by his grandmother, The Demon God. As predicted, Shengu is born with distinct birthmarks. He becomes the telling prophesied grandson of his grandfather Elumalai which doesn't culminate well with the Demon God. Hours after Shengu's birth, Elumalai is found dead. Demon God swiftly seizes control of the family, confiscates all wealth amassed by husband Elumalai and begins to wield ownership. She ostracises Shengu and begins to dictate the family. 
Set against the backdrops of the postcolonial years of WW2 in Karamaram Estate, Malaya, chaos reigns within the family. Opulent in tradition and heritage driven, the grand family moves on under the guidance of the Demon and her two forlorn daughters - Vimala and Suganthi. Both daughters live their lives in gilded wisdom as they are considered Demon God's favourite progenies. Shengu grows up plundered with mayhem, hatred and curses. As the years roll by, he grows up into a fine young man, learning life's salient intricacies from his mother and all who come in contact with him. With his jovial banter, silly pranks and challenges, he tackles his hardships head-on. The Demon God tries ways to thwart Shengu but every obstacle of hers backfires. As he nears adulthood and unbeknownst to himself he lets loose his wrath on his tormentors. The prophesy works its way in Shengu as the deranged lad  avenges Demon God to gain back what was rightfully destined to be his.
