To Datuk Tony Fernandez
I know you were awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services in promoting commercial and educational links between Britain and Malaysia and something somewhat similar to that I suppose from the French as well.
Kudos and congratulations – to you and to Air Asia. From my little musings and readings, I know not of any dark skinned Malaysian born entrepreneur receive such awards let alone from a foreign Government. This is a defo KUDOS undoubtedly.
It’s all plausible to read you a person in an industry hardly imaginable make that much “paparazzi” in this part of the world we call Asia when Malaysia is all about the cake and icing belonging to the master-race Moslems and nothing less.
That must be a hell of a gadabadonk to you.
Air Asia is now the ‘taxi’ for many Malaysians. The caption cliché, ‘Now All Can Fly’ is popular in not only here but to all destinations your birds fly to. Many low budget airline industries haven’t made what you and your pet ‘science-project’ industry have done in a short span of time and in revolving hiccups as well. Again yes - plausible.
And now you’re into Formula One – toys only white men play and fiddle with. You have embraced the league of the mega-insane infidels. Now this is beyond imagination as well. I wonder if you’ll be going into train travel business as well and that so only you can tell as Sir Richard Branson runs trains too. (just asking...hic!)
Now, Tony - albeit all these praises, accolades and laurels and money rolling like jackpot-winnings into AirAsian pockets, I do, the hopeless me, see pit and shortfalls. I do see the very motto you build around us crush by you – which I may (with permission) call it CHEATING.
I believe many observant-minded lame travelers like me see the loophole but what are we suppose to do? Will Air Asia not give a damn if we bring it to your sane senses? I think not. Many know and am sure you would have been asked by many as well. Why should you even, a giant of sorts, consider listening to queries qualms of the travelling public anyway? (I did browse your latest QNA ‘gimmick’ in your website.)
Anyway, if you choose to put aside your heighten gait and mellow down to a man-in-the-street stature, then do please read what I’ve got to say.
You rake in millions when the public use your airline services. But what about the scores of travelers buying tickets and not being able to travel on the day of flight? Why isn’t the money discounted and returned back to them. How can you sit all day and think about your expensive toys when the very money (partly) you rake and make to build your castles is somewhat amalgamated from non-utilizing your fly services? How can you hold unwarranted money? What do you call this kinda airline-trade if not cheating plundering?
In simplicity – how come you don’t have a refund counter in your industry which is now festering?
Other transport industries, a lot cheaper in stature and income do have refund counters. Even Thai Railways do have non-travel counters. (money returned after a discount.)
I’m not talking about the travel delays your industry never rue about, or the impartiality of the air fares you charge, or even about the all red-white clad arrogant and racist bimbo stewardesses you employ who grin and look like poison ivys and swagger too or even the rude behemoth narcissist your personnel we have to put up with. This is about you not giving us back what is rightfully NOT yours to take.
Tell me Tony – if I’m not asking too much – how will one know of an impending travel one takes in the future and when that very day arrives, a calamity strikes on behalf of the passenger or a dear one falls sick or kicks the bucket?
Maybe you may wana employ a gypsy or a genie to forecast all future travelers’ dates of passengers to see if no impeding delay or cancellation is due on the passenger’s behalf. But can you do that?
Why this greed?
Observation 2 :
Why do your air fares between two destinations differ tho the two destinations geographically do not move? Why aren’t the fare same when the time taken and the journey is ALWAYS the same irrespective of when you travel. Is this somewhat a clowning jester by your good Air Asia?
Maybe other airlines have their own senile version of making the customer look dim but do you have to forage your clientele as well?
Believe me, apes do look alike tho’ both have different DNA and gene structure. Or maybe this is what we travelers have to wake up to – to the snide cheating and hoodwinking traits – some ‘trait’ you geniuses have and please don’t tell or give us your ‘Air-Asia’ size of problematic stories. We don't have that much grey matter to harness and understand.
We want to know what you once called LOW COST TRAVEL is now none of that no more.
Thank you.
