PTPTN Loans are not and should not be FREE. They are loans and loans are meant to be repaid gradually if not in full.
The BN-UMNO government grants loans to students for higher education. This is good and RIGHT. They should. But when students fail to repay, run, hide, disappear or even go arrogant and chant slogans of hatred, then it is tantamount to CBT or breach of trust.
Why must students pay back one will ask?
1. Think of the up coming generation of students. They need the fund too.
2. The government need the funding to revolve the money like a revolving credit. This is important for the cause and keeps it healthy.
3. If the loans are made free, then the Government need to dig deep and fork out more money, maybe borrow thus escalating deficits. This will not entail any good for a nation. The repercussion of the default loans unpaid will befall upon the students who come back to spearhead the nation. What bit you earlier will begin to eat you later.
4. No where is there any policy that says loans are always available and are free. NEVER. Not even in an impoverished nation. (Yes, in some nations education is free but we aren't that nation.)
5. Maybe, students who have borrowed money and have gone to excel further in their studies should have the loan converted as a gift for their excellence in education. Yes, a GIFT and no more a loan. It befits nicely.
6. All students have a karma to do the needful and repay loans borrowed and not go default. Historian Charles Beard said, "The bee pollinates the flower it robs." It should be same for PTPTN borrowers too.
So dear students, adik-adik bakal jamin kesejahteraan Malaysia - tak kira kaum, agama atau generasi, HENTIKANLAH demonstrasi anda.
Tidak masuk akal bila pinjaman loan / duit tidak di bayar balik.
Terima Kasih.
