Simply a marriage made for mayhem ...

In Malaysia the law says children under the age of *16 (Moslem) and 18 (non-Moslem) are not permitted or shouldn't even consider for marriage.

* Just don't understand what's special about Moslem children under this pretext. You mean Moslem children above 16 have a vast and sound understanding of the birds and the bees while the nons don't?

Recently in Kelantan a minor, 12 year-old was married to a 19 year-old, so thus the story.

In Malaysia, the law does dictate CLEARLY ...
  • Children under 18 aren't permitted or allowed to purchase or consume tobacco or alcohol, what more smoke or drink liquor?
  • It clearly says children under 18 should get parental guide when watching movies meant for the above 18s or adults
  • Children under 18 cannot obtain driving licence. What more drive or ride?
  • They cannot and should not be employed even if it's a family business or enterprise
  • Under 18s, no way can vote in general election
  • No entrance for clubbing, nightclubs, bars, pubs or even prostitution
  • Children can never enter into any contract binding effecting their wantings or necessities.
In simplicity, any male can't have any form of sexual relation or intercourse with a girl below 16 else it is considered statutory rape. (But in Malaysia it is sometimes considered a 'play-play' fun thing and one can actually get away from it without any reprisals.) We have strange laws. You just have no idea.

But, how is it a 12 year-old with the consent of her guardian (father) get married to a 19 year-old teenager? A parental consent supersedes the age factor and the law? We have such a law NOW!!... :-)
Or let me put it this way - how can two of the opposite sex marry or even have a relationship when both by law are still under parental guide and in this case it's the girl? Only twelve, in primary school and married.
If such is THE case, why bother coming up with the term statutory rape?

One big question -  what happens to the 12 year-old after marriage? Will she be able to cope with life? Mother hood? Ohh! and don't forget the consequences of having mother-in-law from HELL.
And the implication when this very 12 year-old walks around pregnant. Malaysians are a hyper curious bunch. Imagine what this girl would have to endure during such stage?  Who should be blamed? The father who consented to the marriage? The law? Religion? Or the 12-year-old girl?

When they're that many don'ts for anyone below 18, a 12 year-old here is prepped for motherhood and beyond.

Are you even reading this? It sure makes me sick.

Sounds like caveman's theory translated into barbarism.
