Intelligence Quotient

By Elena Ledoux

These're my personal observations based on my interactions with many intelligent people: judges, lawyers, doctors, experts, entrepreneurs, executives, and investors:

1. They're curious. If they come across something unusual or new, they'd explore it and try to learn something about it.

2. They're funny. Highly intelligent people seem to have a great sense of humor and are not dull.

3. They're humble. This maybe counter-intuitive, but for whatever reason the most intelligent people don’t have a giant ego and think they're smarter than everyone else.

4. They're simple. They seem to choose material things based on the intrinsic qualities and functionality as opposed to the image or status they're going to project.

5. They're independent. They make decisions unaffected by societal pressure or expectations.

6. They do not have money, status, or fame as primary motivation.

7. They communicate clearly. You don’t see them using million-dollar words. You understand exactly what they’re trying to say.

8. They like to read. They read a lot.

9. They do not take extreme positions on religion, politics, etc.

10. They have strong relationships with their family and friends.

Know this, if you score a perfect 10 you must be from a diffetent star system.
