THR ...goshh, they're still around!!!

It seems the PM of Malaysia had a sit-in radio interview with THR.  I don’t subscribe to this radio station as I deem them as  irrelevant. Nevertheless, I read about the interview with the PM on an independent news portal - mainstream Internet.
The gist of the interview was laughable or should I say akin telling a donkey to neigh up a tree. It seems the PM said he hoped to see a vast improvement in the status and welfare of the Indian community in the country over the next five years. He also reiterated so it seems, the Indian community is to be fully integrated into the mainstream of national economic development and hoped within the next five years, he'll see a vast improvement of the Indian community.
50 plus years running and helming the country, here's the PM saying he needs another 5 more years to spruce up the Indian community?  You mean 50 years wasn't enough and he needs another 5 more? Does he know his jokes are far more disgusting than the ones from the radio deejays themselves.
The PM said, new approaches were taken in recognizing and tackling problems of the Indians, even from the time when he was the deputy prime minister and chaired the Cabinet Committee on Indian Affairs.
Chaired the Cabinet Committee on Indian Affairs! I wonder how many Indian “think-tanks” were jointly sitting with him then in the so-called "Cabinet Committee on Indian Affairs." I can guess one – Samy Veloo but he ain’t a think-tank. He is a tank incapable of thinking.
Najib also said the government had achieved much for the Indian community over the last two years and there was greater recognition and awareness of problems faced by Indians. It also seems the Indians are always faced with problems. A metaphor or sorts for debate.
Yeah right! There are thousands out there without ICs and scores of them without birth certificates and he says the government have done much for Indians. What an unbeatable joke.
Greater awareness!! Wow! In what? The awareness in that the Indians should be soundly made into scapegoats! In fact, that is what I know is happening for sure - taken for a ride and dumped like thrash.

In fact, during times like now why wouldn't the PM think of the Indians?  Elections is just a 'breath' away and with the eroding support from the rakyat, I guess for the PM to grace an Indian talk-show (which has never been done before) is the lamest farce anyone can cook up or muster. Another BN [well-thought] machinery.

Anyway, talks aside - ask yourselves why would the PM ever need to come and do a talk interview with one of the dumbest or “bodo” radio station ever in times like this.
And the worst part – the interview was conducted by two bittergourd numbnuts who don't know jack about anything they talk or even puke on radio. Imagine listening to them cackle every morning to douse your day with their flakiness.
And this despicable radio station praises itself for being the first to interview a PM on a Tamil talk show. How more loathly must they be!

BERSIH 3.0

Today is Bersih 3.0.

Do your part to clean up what needs to be cleaned.

Bersih 3.0 - The bane of being in the wrong light ...Quote and Unquote

Quote :

* It is obvious the government through the police and City Hall want to frustrate the organising committee of Bersih 3.0's protest with late replies and approvals.

They unsolicited  and offer alternative venue at eleventh hour to throw the spanner in the works. Let DBKL and the BN government be warned - if Dataran Merdeka is cordoned off to prevent the sit-in protest, then the Bersih supporters would be left with no choice but to march onto the streets.

* By the unwittingly decision of the mayor, the marching around the city would definitely create much greater impact - instead of a lesser boisterous 'duduk bantah' form of dissent.

* When we wanted Stadium Merdeka, they told us to go to  a stadium in Selangor. When we wanted Dataran Merdeka, they ask us to go to Stadium Merdeka.

* The Umno stooges just want to put obstacles and make it difficult. They want to play the one upmanship with Bersih.

* It is pretty obvious they fear this uninhibited huge gathering may trigger an avalanche that could torpedo BN out. Let's show them we aren't afraid to change this country for the better.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) knew well in advance the organisers of Bersih decided to hold their public meeting at Dataran Merdeka.

* The civil authorities had initially remained silent which means no objection. But Umno and their minions namely Ibrahim Ali, expressed objection and now DBKL wakes up to their masters' call.

* Civil servants have to serve the public in accordance with laws of the land in a fair and just manner and not to suit the whims and fancies of Umno.

* Cheers to Bersih's S Ambiga and her dedicated colleagues. May the Almighty God bless them and lead them to success for their success is also the success of the nation.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Ahmad Fuad Ismail is like many other top civil servants. They behave like obedient Umno-BN servants instead of like politically neutral civil servants because they depend not on their own merits and abilities but rather on Umno-BN for their highly-paid jobs.

* They know if they behave like obedient Umno-BN servants, when they retire from their cushy civil service jobs, they will be rewarded with even more lucrative private sector multiple directorships where they will be paid huge fees without even having to do work.

All these are just a political show to attract votes for opposition. Remember, in late 2007, when Hindraf decided to demonstrate, it generated 85 percent of Indian votes for opposition.

* The opposition has learned from this - they will keep demonstrating to increase their voting strength. It's as simple as that.

To Ambiga and the rest of the Bersih committee, the rakyat cannot thank you enough for your stand for the country, for our rights, for clean governance and for our future.

* I urge you to never give up on us, never back down and always keep your chin up.

They are giving us the run-around. They have no intention to give you Stadium Merdeka as they will come up with an excuse at the last moment.

* They did this the last time, so their words are not to be trusted. The police have said no to the rally and even if the stadium authorities say yes. You will be back to square one.

* So let the mayor take the responsibility as the politicians stand on the sidelines and give instructions. They will later blame the local authorities if anything goes wrong.

Fuad, what is so wrong if it is held in Dataran Merdeka? Please be reminded, most of Bersih's people are paying their dues to the City Hall and therefore it is their right to use the Dataran. Don't treat it as if it belongs to you.

This alternative venue offer is another ploy by DBKL to split the Bersih supporters so that the FRU (riot police) and DBKL officers can go after the small numbers, arrest and ‘whack' them. Be careful, stay with the crowd.

All these officers at DBKL are people just like us. We should not be afraid of them. The fact that they wear the blue uniform does not scare us.

* In fact, with an estimate of at least 20,000 of us, they should be the ones who should be scared. Worse-case scenario: they use force to wrestle some of us down. But there are many more of us compared to them.

* We have the numbers. Why should we be intimidated by these fellas? After all, we are a peaceful assembly and we just want to exercise our rights. We are not a national threat.

Yes, I DO NOT agree.

PTPTN Loans are not and should not be FREE. They are loans and loans are meant to be repaid gradually if not in full.

The BN-UMNO government grants loans to students for higher education. This is good and RIGHT. They should. But when students fail to repay, run, hide, disappear or even go arrogant and chant slogans of hatred, then it is tantamount to CBT or breach of trust.

Why must students pay back one will ask?

1. Think of the up coming generation of students. They need the fund too.

2. The government need the funding to revolve the money like a revolving credit. This is important for the cause and keeps it healthy.

3. If the loans are made free, then the Government need to dig deep and fork out more money, maybe borrow thus escalating deficits. This will not entail any good for a nation. The repercussion of the default loans unpaid will befall upon the students who come back to spearhead the nation. What bit you earlier will begin to eat you later.

4. No where is there any policy that says loans are always available and are free. NEVER. Not even in an impoverished nation. (Yes, in some nations education is free but we aren't that nation.)

5. Maybe, students who have borrowed money and have gone to excel further in their studies should have the loan converted as a gift for their excellence in education. Yes, a GIFT and no more a loan. It befits nicely.

6. All students have a karma to do the needful and repay loans borrowed and not go default. Historian Charles Beard said, "The bee pollinates the flower it robs." It should be same for PTPTN borrowers too.

So dear students, adik-adik bakal jamin kesejahteraan Malaysia - tak kira kaum, agama atau generasi, HENTIKANLAH demonstrasi anda.

Tidak masuk akal bila pinjaman loan / duit tidak di bayar balik.

Terima Kasih.

Now Ballet is banned?.. what's next?

“Malaysia denies permit for a Singapore dance troupe to perform The Nutcracker and other ballet works due to concerns about “indecent” costumes, media in both countries reported.

Ballet costumes have always been “indecent”, in fact the world over. The lucidity and the gyrations of the dance is what makes ballet so unique, thus telling a story with music. Ballet is profound as a song is to its tune and have you ever wondered how long it takes a ballerina to perform ballet on stage even to a half filled auditorium?

Why the fuss?

They're many ballet schools and academies in Malaysia, so don’t you think theses academies should be banned too unless those learning ballet are doing it in Baju Melayu or Sarees or even in pajamas. I don't know. You tell me.
In case your aren’t an ardent fan of the theater,- in Malaysia there aren’t much of those anyway but there are Malaysians who seek such entertainment. Me one of them. We aren't caveman you know! And in case you're still ignorant on this topic, how is it any theatrical play in “Melayu” is okay even with the use of "keris”, “parang" or even God forbid a tomahawk.
But ballet (from Singapore, in particular) is now banned due to their costume. Errr!!
So, what should those ‘ballerinas’ wear on stage to perform ballet?  Arab Jubas and purdahs perhaps. Again, I don't know. You tell me.
As it is we have shows on TV censored and butchered killing the whole meaning of the movie and not forgetting no F words or any of that that signals to a verbal curse.
I do know in Malaysia, more movies are banned than screened. Else why am I still waiting to view movies like Schinder’s List or even Brokeback Mountain. Pity me..hmmmm!
At the rate of stuff we ban and not show or screen foreign plays and movies on our soil, it only makes sense we move and live in caves and watch our shadows dance on the cavern rock walls and be entertained.
Try for moment and ask...by banning all these shows and movies or even documentaries, will we become decent, or grow into a well-behaved society or a recipe to send us back into the jungle.

Hey! even jungle man(Tarzan) wears an underwear..not hanging from tree to tree naked but Tarzan the movie is shown. How aaagh??

Husband and Wife - The Indian Potpourri..

Indian expatriates form a large group of the work force in Malaysia. They're many in my company and 99% of them are males. Once in a while we (Malaysians) receive wedding invitations from them. Supposedly, they're getting married and you can see the joy on their faces when they come around dispensing their invitations. These weddings are always in India and so are the brides but the guys are here in Malaysia.

I'm not going to renegade on them or write anything ballistic this time around but whenever I get a wedding invitation from an Indian colleague I always ask myself - how is it this guy, who has been in Malaysia for almost a year, and who never socialises, is suddenly ready to tie the knot.

So, I got myself into a question and answer session with a colleague who recently got married and returned to work after a one-month long holiday.

Me : How's married life?

Indian with a gleam as wide as his face, "Very good, wonderrrful."

Me : So, does your misses like it here in Malaysia.

Indian gleams again : "Oh, she is in India."

Me  : "What!.. why?"

Indian : "She need to apply for passport, then prepare herself for the travel here to Malaysia."

Me : You mean, before you got married you never told her to get ready with the passport and the rest of the arrangements.

Indian, this time with a bigger gleam : "I only told her after the wedding."

I was rather surprised and asked vehemently, "You're working here in Malaysia, and you know she will need to travel with you to Malaysia, how come you never told her way before the marriage?"

Indian again with the never fading gleam : "I only talked to her for the first time after the wedding. Before that I have never seen her. Only her photo."

Errrr....You what? - that's what I said, not to him but to myself.

In reality, the Indians claim without them, there would be no NASA, without them there would be no doctors and surgeons on the planet, without them half the world's work force would cripple - and here is an Indian (post graduate degree holder) saying he only saw, met and talked to his wife only after the wedding.  Go figure!

And yes, Indians today still practise and believe in marriages made and tailor -suited by their parents and not them.
